- Full reveal coming later this year.
This is the new Vauxhall Frontera, an all-electric replacement for the ageing Crossland. It’s coming this year, and you can expect it to share parts with the recently-revealed Citroen e-C3.
As well as these teasers, this new Mazda MX-30 alternative has been spotted out and about during prototype testing by Carwow’s spy photographers.
New Vauxhall Frontera design

These teaser images are your first official look at the new Vauxhall Frontera, and you can see that it’ll have a similar boxy shape to the Citroen e-C3.

This makes sense seeing as the two cars are likely to be very similar under the skin, but spy shots from Carwow’s spy photographers show some Vauxhall-specific details. Up front, you can see that the Frontera has a similar headlight design to cars like the Astra, and you can bet that the wrap is hiding Vauxhall’s Vizor grille.

This means there will be a gloss black panel between the headlights, lending the car a sleek and modern appearance. Looking around the back, the tail lights appear to be similar to the e-C3’s, however it’s tricky to tell under the disguise.
New Vauxhall Frontera motors and batteries
There are no official specs for the new Vauxhall Frontera just yet, but it will be very similar to the Citroen e-C3 under the skin. That car uses a 113hp electric motor powering the front wheels and it’ll do 0-60 in around 11 seconds. Expect the Frontera to tout similar performance figures.

As for batteries, this car is likely to use the same 44kWh battery as the e-C3, meaning it should have around 200 miles of range. A smaller-battery version may also be offered at a lower price, as is the case with the Citroen.
When can I buy a new Vauxhall Frontera?
A full reveal of the new Vauxhall Frontera is coming later this year, possible in late spring. If this car is priced in line with the Citroen e-C3, it could be one of the most affordable EVs on the market. The Citroen costs less than £23,000, so expect the Frontera to wear a similar price tag.
